Here’s an interesting article from Wired News: Alphabet Soup: Do You Speak Tech?.
Reminds me of them days in high school: I did an essay piece on jargon, mouthing off something like “A PC-XT running DOS is much better than CP/M on a Commodore, and this will surely provide a big boost for cutting-edge 16-bit computing,” and sounding really cool. 
God, my age shows.
