Browsing on Safari…

without comments

…Is great, although a bit unsettling. In a nutshell:

  • The chrome looks cool, as one would expect from Apple.
  • Anti-aliasing is a bit off, though. The recommended setting for TFT is medium but it’s still a little off.
  • The pages load faster, as advertised. And the progress bar on the address, er, bar? Nifty!
  • Tabbed browsing! But why do I have to right-click to open a new tab?
  • I don’t know about memory or crash issues, haven’t encountered them yet (hope I don’t) but hey, this is a beta release — live with that.

Safari on Windows

And, oh, this requires a place all its own: the coolest feature I saw in Safari is the inline search highlighting. If only it has the same vi-like keyboard binding (the “slash” key) like Firefox has.
